I was speaking with a friend the other day that mentioned something simple but complexed. After accomplishing a major goal she mentioned, "this totally freed some mental capacity." That struck a cord inside me. I never truly thought about life in that manner. That my mind is a storage unit storing all sorts of items and some baggage.
But why do we use our mind in that manner? Why look at our accomplishments in such gloom? I like to store good thoughts. Positive images, replicas, useful information. But it's human nature to contain all of these negative contents. They bog us down. Unnecessary stress. We should get to the core of each thought. If it's worth keeping, store it. Lock it up. Other than that, toss the shit out. Do whatever it takes to literally get that particular image out. I want you to grab it, look at it, ball the bitch up and toss. It's not helping. It's ok to achieve a goal. To finish something. But the end result shouldn't have to be an extra added stress factor. Rather let that achievement be a positive relief like it should be.
You know, that moment when you've accomplished something so thrilling in life and all you can do is smile; treat it as such. Not as a disjointed "man, finally can cross that shit off my list."
Live for the journey. Life is so much more exhilarating. Trust me.
